Commerce

In Mollet, we promote local businesses!

Mollet del Vallès boasts a broad, diverse and high-quality selection of shops. While the establishments in the city’s neighbourhoods cater to every day needs, the centre is where we can find shops that sell all kinds of products, some with many years of experience. Mollet’s main shopping district stretches along and around the following streets and squares: Barcelona, Berenguer III, Jaume I, Gaietà Vínzia, Gaietà Ventalló, Plaça de Prat de la Riba and Plaça Major. This area is home to several century-old shops.

Plaça Major is also the site of the Municipal Market, a large, radiant, modern and easily accessible building with a wide array of top-quality products, mainly food, yet also clothes and accessories, plants and flowers, jewellery, household items, etc. Near the market we also find book shops, stationery shops, electrical shops and DIY shops, among others.

The Tuesday street market was first held in 1909. Since then it has expanded, and today its highly diverse stands occupy many of the city’s most centrally located streets. Every Tuesday it fills with people who come to browse and purchase all manner of products.

Shopping centres and service hubs have been built on the outskirts of the city, with major brands and large parking areas.

Mollet és Fira

The largest trade fair in Mollet is held annually in the spring and takes place every weekend for a month. The main objective of Mollet és Fira is to introduce the public to Mollet’s array of businesses and services. The fair is organised by sector: food, motor vehicles, retail, quality of life and wellness. It has a festive atmosphere, with a broad range of recreational activities.

Over the course of a month, the establishments involved in Mollet és Fira hold promotional campaigns that include raffles and lots of prizes.

Foraestoc

Foraestoc is an event that takes places in the city’s shopping district one Saturday in March. During this fair, the shops offer major discounts on a number of products to mark the end of the sales period. Foraestoc is organised by the Mollet Municipal Council’s office of the Councillor for Commerce, in cooperation with the Mollet Commerce Association (ADHEC).

Fira d’Artesans

This craft fair is one of the most acclaimed events of its kind in Catalonia, due to both the number of years it has been running and the authenticity of the handicrafts available for purchase from the participating stalls. It provides the public the opportunity to see the work of skilled artisans first-hand and take part in family-friendly bread-making, clay, pottery and woodworking workshops.

The Fira d’Artesans also includes a number of traditional cultural and festive activities.

From the very beginning, the residents of Mollet’s historical centre have been actively involved in organising the fair, decorating the streets in a fully artisanal manner.
