The Monolith is part of the project undertaken to remodel Rambla de Pompeu between Plaça de Sant Vicenç and the Vinyota roundabout. The author landscaped this stretch of the Rambla together with the roundabout and used the sculpture as a point of union between the new houses and the old city.
It now stands as a symbol of the city and bears its name and anagram: the letter M, followed by two exclamation marks.
To make it visible at night as a city landmark, the structure was fitted with lighting.
