This sculpture is a depiction of Pau Casals playing the cello. Made from carbon steel, it rests on a concrete pedestal bearing a plaque with the inscription To Pau Casals-Meeting of Catalan music bands-Mollet del Vallès, 8 October 2005.
The monument was paid for by the Pau Casals Musical Association and the Mollet del Vallès Youth Band, with support from the Municipal Council, on the occasion of the music band gathering.
At the request of the Youth Band, the sculptor drew inspiration from the association’s logo.
