Can Borrell farmhouse

This farmhouse, which dates to between the 13th and 14th centuries, is organised around a long, central structure and is annexed to a four-storey-high square defence tower. It is the city’s only remaining fortified farmhouse.

Also dating to that period are the façade’s three Gothic windows, all of which are well-preserved. The current tower was modified in the 17th or 18th century.

Opposite the main façade we find a large threshing floor, where the well and the barn’s stone pillar, both perfectly preserved, can still be seen.

It was acquired by the Municipal Council and, following a major restoration, opened as a community centre in July 2005.
