The current Municipal Market, in the centre of the city, is home to over fifty stalls and several shops, all under the same roof. All of them sell top-quality products that have earned people’s trust.

The building, which opened in early 1996, is modern, spacious and flooded with natural light. It was designed by the members of the architecture studio Serra Vives Cartagena.

It has a number of entrances: Avinguda de Burgos, Avinguda Llibertat, Plaça Major and Carrer del Mercat.

The former municipal market, in Plaça de Prat de la Riba, began selling products in 1949. The building has since become a community and cultural centre under the name Mercat Vell.
