Plaça de Prat de la Riba is a square located in Mollet’s historical centre. The municipal nerve centre, it is lined with historical buildings that form part of the city’s heritage, such as the former City Hall, the old municipal market and the Amadó Pharmacy, with elaborate façades, sculpted windows and hand-forged metalwork.

It was the site of the first archaeological excavations that unearthed some of the earliest remnants of Mollet, from the late Middle Ages to the contemporary period, with almost one thousand years of uninterrupted historical development.

Dab in the middle of the square sits the emblematic Modernist Fountain, designed by architect Domènec Sugrañes Gras, one of Gaudí’s disciples.
