Menhir de Mollet

This impressive late Neolithic menhir was discovered in 2009 during construction of Les Pruneres Park.

One-of-a-kind in Catalonia, at 5 m tall and 6 tonnes, it is the largest menhir on the Iberian Peninsula and one of the largest in all of Southern Europe.

Another characteristic that makes this menhir unique are its engravings and relief carvings, which depict what may be the face of a possible divinity, making this monument a menhir-statue.

The megalith dates to between 3,500-2,500 years before the common era.
