Awards and distinctions
In recent years, the city of Mollet del Vallès has amassed a string of awards and distinctions related, among other things, to nature, health, socials services, sport and sustainability.
- Mollet del Vallès received the European Green Leaf in 2015 for its commitment to sustainability and green growth.
- Mollet, the only city in Catalonia and Spain to be named European City of Sport in 2017.
- Named Best Spanish City in Energy Efficiency by the Fòrum Ambiental Foundation in 2018.
- Chosen as a venue for the 2019 World Roller Games Barcelona, a global event for disciplines such as Scootering, Artistic Skating and Skateboarding.
- Recipient of the 2020 Healthy Lifestyles for Cities Award from the European Commission.
- Mollet, the Catalan municipality with the most distinctions during the period 2016-2022 in the Viles Florides (Floral Village) Awards.
- For the third straight year, Mollet received the 2022 “Blue Birdies” distinction, the highest award in Spain for excellence in the selective collection of paper and cardboard.
- For the 4th straight year, the Mollet Municipal Council was recognised for the quality of its social services.
