The Mollet Municipal Market opened in 1949 in Plaça de Prat de la Riba, in the building that now houses the Mercat Vell Community and Cultural Centre.

In 1996, the Municipal Market was moved to the new Illa de Can Mulà, a modern and open-plan two-storey building with lots of natural light. The new market is home to around fifty shops, which open Monday to Saturday and sell all manner of food and household items, clothes and accessories, plants and flowers, perfumery products, etc.

A number of businesses have their entrance and shop window facing the street. The market has several entrances: Avinguda de Burgos, Avinguda Llibertat, Plaça Major and Carrer del Mercat.

The market’s shops now offer an online retail and home delivery service.
