The Abelló Museum Municipal Foundation, based in Mollet del Vallès, is housed inside a Modernist building that was constructed in 1908.
It showcases the generous donation by local painter Joan Abelló, which comprises a substantial part of his production and personal collection.
The Museum is home to two permanent exhibitions: Modern Art in the Abelló Collection, 19th-20th centuries, a look back at mainly Catalan art from Modernism to the 1970s; and Abelló, A Taste, a tour of the artist’s different creative stages, from his early work to the late 1990s, his period of greatest artistic maturity. The building also has two temporary exhibition halls and L’Aparador, a space dedicated to emerging art.
