Can Borrell Park

The park’s central element is the Can Borrell farmhouse, which dates to the 13th century and gives the park and neighbourhood their name. Remodelled, it now houses one of the city’s community centres. Elements of Mollet’s clear agricultural past have also been conserved, such as the farmhouse’s threshing floor and an old stone pillar that held up the barn, the old well and the old irrigation pond.

Much of the vegetation has been preserved, including a large double-footed London plane, a European nettle tree and a magnificent row of London planes, legacy of the riparian forest which once grew on the banks of the Gallecs stream. Opposite the farmhouse stands a collection of cherry plum trees and, around the house, a small pine and holly oak grove.

A children’s play area with a zip line, swings and slides round off the park.
