Eating in Mollet del Vallès
Until well into the 20th century, Mollet was a town that subsisted largely thanks to farmers and agriculture. The Farinera Moretó flour mill, which remains in operation, was built at the beginning of the century.
Although Mollet is no longer primarily agricultural, the desire to preserve Gallecs as a rural landscape made it necessary to implement a form of management adapted to modern times. As a result, Gallecs is now a hub for organic farming and site for the recovery of ancient seeds, particularly different types of wheat.
Products made using organic flour from Gallecs are available in a number of Mollet’s bakeries, such as Prat, L’Antic and Fleca Llargués. The spelt biscuits with sugar and cinnamon and other confectionery products by Gallecs Dolç are available at the Agrobotiga de Gallecs, along with other organic products such as vegetables, grains, pulses, eggs, honey, jams, canned food, etc.
